FileRestore for Networks provides the administrator with the ability to view from a single screen, all computers where the client recovery service is currently installed and running.

When the client service is deployed, the remote computers broadcast their active status to the Enterprise Clients console.

A network computer must be running the FileRestore for Networks client service for the remote computer to be displayed on the Enterprise Clients screen.

Launch the “Connect to Remote Computer” screen and click the “Browse” icon. When Browse is selected, the Enterprise Clients screen will open and all active client enabled computers will be displayed.

Enterprise Clients also details whether a password requirement is enabled on the client computer and also whether the requirement for the user to accept a connection attempt by the administrator, has been enabled.

Browse Enterprise Clients also displays the date and time that the service was installed and the date and time that FileRestore for Networks last accessed the remote computer. Fields may be copied, printed or exported to a .csv file.

Selecting “Open browse automatically” will open the Enterprise Clients screen, by default, when Network Mode is selected e.g. when the “Network Mode” icon is clicked, or “Remote” is selected from the Local/Remote Mode dropdown.

Displaying Enterprise Computers

The client service can be deployed by either of the following methods:

Via the “Connect to Remote Computer” screen
Select “Remote” from the Local/Remote Mode dropdown, or, click the “Network Mode” icon. When selected this will open the “Connect to Remote Computer” screen. Now select a computer name or IP address to connect to and click “Connect”. If the client service is not already installed, or has not started, then you will be prompted to start the service on the remote computer. Click yes and the service will be auto-installed and started on the client computer. When the service has started, the remote computer will now broadcast its active status to the administrator console. The active computer will now be displayed on the Enterprise Clients screen.

Enterprise Deployment
The client service may also be installed across multiple systems with Microsoft’s Active Directory Group Policy. Read the product user guide for further information.
