64 MB RAM.
Administrator Console
The host application will run on the following operating systems:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows 2003
Windows 2008
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Supports: 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
4.2 MB of free space required for the installation.
Administrator privileges are required to run FileRestore for Networks.
Remote Client Service
The remote client service will run on the following operating systems:
Windows NT4
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows 2003
Windows 2008
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Supports: FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems.
The client service will also run on non-Windows file systems (e.g. HFS and HFS+), where the non-Windows disk is visible to Windows as a drive.
Supports: 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
If the client service is manually installed, or the client service is deployed with Active Directory Group Policy, then Windows Installer 3.0.01 or above is required for the client installation file.
Firewall Configuration
To allow the deployment of the client service when using the “Connect to Remote Computer” dialog, File and Print Sharing services (TCP Port 139, TCP port 445, UDP Port 137, UDP port 138) must be accessible on the remote computer by the administrator computer i.e. the computer that is performing the deployment.
If these ports are not customarily open, it is recommended that the scope of the firewall exception for each port is limited to the IP address of the computer that is deploying the client.
In addition, the TCP port that is applied to the remote computer, via “Settings” on the “Connect to Remote Computer” screen must be open on the remote computer. By default this is TCP port 16000 but can be changed as required. This port is also the port on which the client service listens for incoming connection requests from the FileRestore for Networks administrator console.
It is recommended that the scope of this firewall exception is limited to the computers needing to connect.
Once the client service has been installed, the ports on which access to File and Print Sharing services on the remote computer depend (TCP Port 139, TCP port 445, UDP Port 137, UDP port 138) need not be open, although they will need to be open in order to remove and/or redeploy the client service.
