Save the FRN_BootDisk_Creator.exe file to a healthy Windows computer and launch the BootDisk Creator by double-clicking the FRN_BootDisk_Creator.exe file. No product activation is required. When the BootDisk Creator is launched you will be presented with the option to create a bootable CD/DVD or a bootable USB device.

Creating a CD/DVD BootDisk

If the computer that will not boot has a working CD/DVD drive then select the option to burn the BootDisk ISO to a CD/DVD. The BootDisk Creator includes image burning software. Insert a blank CD/DVD in to the healthy computer and click BURN. The burning process should take only 2 to 3 minutes to complete using the in-built burner. When the “Burn” completes, the CD/DVD BootDisk is now ready to be inserted into the computer that will not boot.

Creating a USB Flash Drive BootDisk

If the preferred method is to create a bootable USB BootDisk then select the option to create a Bootable USB Flash drive. If a USB device is not available to be written to then you will be prompted to insert a USB device into one of the USB ports. It is important to note that earlier models of computers may not boot from USB devices. The ability to boot using a USB device is also dependant on both the type of USB device being used and the BIOS of the computer that will not boot. The BootDisk Creator provides two methods of creating a USB BootDisk, a formatted BootDisk and a non-formatted BootDisk. The type of method used will depend on the USB device and the BIOS of the computer that will not boot.

The BootDisk Creator will default to the most appropriate method of creation depending on the USB device selected.
